About Us- Our Vision
PDP Voice – Worldwide is an online-ground based pressure group within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), with it’s membership drawn from young and vibrant supporters and members of the party who are resident in Nigeria and several nations across the world. The group which was born out of the need to inject a new drive and vigour into the one-time virile umbrella party, is aimed at providing a single but loud voice for patriotic Nigerians who wish to contribute their quota in making sure that the PDP is not only seen by all to be playing it’s role as a formidable opposition party, but as being a reformed and well-poised to take over the mantle of leadership from the ruling party; thereby steering the ship of leadership away from it’s present path of rapid descent into total annihilation of a well endowed nation, disintegration of its people and the future of generations yet unborn. There is no gain saying the fact that many Nigerians are most desirous of a viable alternative from the revisionist and destructive government of the ruling APC, and a lot more are looking forward to a convincing political party and candidate who will lead us out of this almost certain doom. The outcome of the last general elections, not withstanding, the PDP is unarguably the only Political party in Nigeria today with such a national appeal and structure with the capability to rally Nigerians from across all tribes, creed and religions to successfully dislodge the APC behemoth. It is our researched opinion that a lot of Nigerians are willing to restore the trust and enormous goodwill they once had for the PDP, if and only if we work twice as hard to meet the basic expectations of the Nigerian people, given the very short time we have politically to achieve these noble objectives.

1. Grassroots Democracy
All Nigerians must be allowed a voice in decisions that affect their lives; no one should be subject to the will of another. We work to improve public participation in every aspect of government and seek to ensure that our public representatives are fully accountable to the people who elect them. We also work to create new types of political organizations that expand the process of participatory democracy by directly including citizens in decision-making.
2. Social Justice And Equal Opportunity
All persons must by right have the opportunity to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment. We must consciously confront in ourselves, our organizations, and society at large, any discrimination by race, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, nationality, religion, or physical or mental ability that denies fair treatment and equal justice under the law.
3. Ecology and Environmental Protection
Human societies must function with the understanding that we are part of nature, not separate from nature. We must maintain an ecological balance and live within the ecological and resource limits of our communities and our planet. We support a sustainable society that utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit and not suffer from the practices of our generation. To this end we must practice agriculture that replenishes the soil, move to an energy-efficient economy, and live in ways that respect the integrity of natural systems.
Our actions and policies should be motivated by long-term goals. We seek to protect valuable natural resources, safely disposing of or ‘unmaking’ all waste we create, while developing a sustainable economics that does not depend on continual expansion for survival. We must counterbalance the drive for short-term profits by assuring that economic development, new technologies, and fiscal policies are responsible to future generations who will inherit the results of our actions. We must make the quality of all lives, rather than open-ended economic growth, the focus of future thinking and polic
It is essential that we develop effective alternatives to society’s current patterns of violence. We will work to demilitarize and eliminate the proliferation of weapons. We recognize the need for self-defense and the defense of others who are in danger. We promote non-violent methods to oppose practices and policies with which we disagree, and will guide our actions toward lasting personal, community and global peace.
Centralization of resources and power contributes to social and economic injustice, environmental destruction, and militarization. We seek a restructuring of social, political and economic institutions away from a system controlled by and mostly benefiting the powerful few, to a democratic, less bureaucratic system. Decision-making should, as much as possible, remain at the individual and local level, while assuring that civil rights are protected for all. Vast concentrations of wealth and power at the centre is not manageable and that which has been the bane of our democracy is inherently undemocratic
6. Community-Based Economics
We support redesigning our work structures to encourage employee ownership and workplace democracy. We support developing new economic activities and institutions that allow us to use technology in ways that are humane, freeing, ecological, and responsive and accountable to communities. We support restructuring our patterns of income distribution to reflect the wealth created by those outside the formal monetary economy – those who take responsibility for parenting, housekeeping, home gardens, community volunteer work, and the like. We support restricting the size and concentrated power of corporations without discouraging superior efficiency or technological innovation.
7. Feminism And Gender Equity
We have inherited a social system based on male domination of politics and economics. We call for the replacement of the cultural ethics of domination and control with cooperative ways of interacting that respect differences of opinion and gender. Human values such as gender equity, interpersonal responsibility, and honesty must be developed with moral conscience. We recognize that the processes for determining our decisions and actions are just as important as achieving the outcomes we want.
8. Respect For Diversity
We believe it is important to value cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, religious and spiritual diversity, and to promote the development of respectful relationships across the human spectrum. We believe that the many diverse elements of society should be reflected in our organizations and decision-making bodies, and we support the leadership of people who have been traditionally closed out of leadership roles. We encourage respect for all life forms, and increased attention to the preservation of biodiversity.
We seek to rescue our democracy from the erosion of citizen participation. Moreover, we seek to dissolve the grip of the ideology, intoned by big-money interests and politics . We challenge that tactic by calling on all Nigerians to think deeply about the meaning of government of the people, by the people, and for the people. In a democracy, individuals come together to form structures of governance that protect and advance the common good. We the citizens are the government, and we the citizens can direct it to fulfill its finest goals and purposes. Our citizens must not permit usurpation of their authority by acts of individuals and government agencies that isolate or insulate government from their oversight and control. We, the People, have a responsibility to participate in self-government through all the means that our Constitution provides.
The citizens of a democracy must have the information and ability to determine the actions of their government.
PDP VOICE Worldwide considers democracy to be an ongoing, unfolding project that is dynamic and creative in nature. We are committed to the strengthening of our great party, including the many mediating institutions at the community level that have always characterized our democracy. We seek to heal the alienation and apathy that has been cultivated in the citizenry by the failed promises of democracy. Righteous anger about the crippling of our democracy is rising in the land, and we offer constructive alternatives. In addition, we seek to repair the plummeting opinion of Nigeria in the international community resulting from our arrogant, narcissistic government policies of recent years. A growing and grave imbalance between the citizens of this country and the interests that extract power from the citizens is an imminent danger to our security and national and global social stability. Our goal is to become an important political voice within the PDP Main and Nigeria at large and always willing to support, any candidate of the party’s collective choice for election at every level of government.
